Know Where It Is — and What Kind It Is
Your vehicle may have one of these:

Full-size spare: Same size as your regular tires. Can be driven on longer.

Compact spare (“donut”): Smaller, limited-speed and distance.

Run-flat tires: No spare at all — tire is designed to drive short distances when flat.

Tire inflator kits: Some newer vehicles skip the spare and provide an inflator instead.
Check your owner’s manual so you’re not surprised in an emergency.
Check Tire Pressure Regularly
Your spare needs the right pressure too — and most people never check it. Compact spares often require 60 PSI, which is much higher than regular tires.
