Auto Repair Reviews
- From the moment I stepped into Scott’s Fort Collins Auto I was treated with the utmost respect by William Maslow. He was easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable. He was understanding, compassionate, patient, open, and warm. He was timely in finding the answers and resolutions in regards to my vehicles needs. He was clear and to the point, and was ready to educate me with photos of my vehicles problems and offered many solutions . The mechanics who fixed the vehicle did an absolutely amazing job!! My vehicle now runs smoothly and is once again operational!!!! Hats off to your crew, and may your company have much prosperity!!!!!! Great job guys!!!!! And thanks again!!!!!! ?read moreread lessI called with a car problem right before Christmas weekend. I was helped by Sebastian who was so kind and informative! The team lent me a car for the time needed to fix my car and honesty, service was so much faster than I could have expected. Most places in town gave me an estimate of 1-2 weeks. These guys fixed my crank shaft, velocity axle, serpentine belt and oil change within two days. It was extremely affordable and my car drives the best it has since buying it a few years ago. Love this place and will be going back for all services! Thanks for being amazing.read moreread less
- I couldn’t have been more pleased with the service I got. I unfortunately had a couple of medical appointments that I had scheduled the same day as my service. And an employee there offered to take me to them. Awesome people at Scott’s and great service. Thank you so much.read moreread less
- I've taken two of my vehicles to Scott's on two separate occasions. The level of customer service I received is unparalleled. The staff is helpful, professional, understanding, and generally top-notch. They were able to perform the requested repair on my vehicles quickly, suggested any additional services (which were actually necessary), and notified me of the completed work faster than expected. During the repair, they actively maintained communication with me, confirmed any changes to the scope of work, and seemed to go the extra mile to ensure that I was satisfied with the service offered. The guys at the front desk are the face of the company and they represent the company well. I give Scott's Auto my highest possible recommendation.read moreread lessThe level of care and quality at Scott's is unparalleled. I had a very frustrating electrical problem and brought my truck in to Scott's. I worked with David and he felt confident they could fix the issue. I ultimately picked up my truck the next day with the issue resolved! David was very good at keeping me updated and in the loop when they needed to spend a bit more time than anticipated on the issue. They provided me with a loaner vehicle during the repair period and I could not be happier with my overall experience. I would absolutely recommend and will definitely be returning for all of my truck repair and maintenance needs!read moreread less
- Absolutely incredible service. By far the most personal service I've experienced at any shop. They were able to look at my car almost immediately when I called, diagnosed a number of things quickly, and even stayed late the last day to get one last part in and get me back on the road, which was way above and beyond and I didn't even expect. My car is my home right now and they helped me get around town in the meantime too! I couldn't thank them enough for so much help. Thank you Austin, Allen, and everyone else there :)read moreread less
- Had a great experience today. Another shop evaluated my overheating and said I needed an $8500 new engine (more than the vehicle was worth). Scott's determined I actually needed new timing belt and thermometer for only $1100. They really seem to know Honda's. And easy access to talk directly with the mechanics is a bonus compare to larger shops.read moreread lessThese guys are professional, timely and have authentic care in what they do! It’s rare to find a shop like this, down to earth, old school vibes with organization and hip to the skip modern twist. They are on it, I couldn’t be more stoked! - One of the best business experiences I’ve ever been involved with (both parts and service). No BS, lots of honesty, fun, and hard work.
The one mechanic told me he made a minor error, then he fixed it,,,,,that was when I was sold on this company. No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care. Scott’s Cares! A lot!read moreread lessWe contacted Scott's based on information about their expertise with Nissan cars. Our driver side window had stopped working. The clarity of communication and follow up was outstanding. I appreciated the report on the overall service needs. They contacted Carvana and made a claim and got all the important stuff done. When a slight problem was found the day after I got the car back, I called them and they took the car in immediately and gave me a loaner. First time customer, but I will definitely be back for any maintenance that will be needed. All round great business. Thank you!read moreread less - Allen and Jim were especially helpful and informative. I was treated with respect and the service to my vehicle was done with care and thoroughness. Because of the explanations given, I scheduled repairs I was unaware were needed, which were done on time and as quoted. The facility is clean and very pleasant. Their customer service is unmatched! l'll be recommending Scott's to anyone I know who needs basic maintenance and/or repair work. Thanks a bunch, Allen!read moreread lessMy dad flew into town a 2 weeks before xmas and noticed something wonky with my car. My dad is a go getter and loves taking care of others so he immediately starting researching auto shops in Fort Collins. He's a master of research and tenaciously reads reviews but only the places that have been reviewed the most. He doesn't bother with places that have 5/5 star reviews. So he noticed Scott's Auto had a whopping 170+ mostly 5 star reviews. After reading the reviews, Dad called up Scott's and spoke to Tony (I think) who told Dad if he could bring the car in the next hour he could test drive the car to analyze the issue. So Dad took the car right then and came back telling me how impressed he was with this place and the service and the analyzation of the car lined up with what he thought might be the problem. Scott's scheduled us for an appointment early the next morning. They even drove us to the Back Porch so we could have breakfast while waiting for the car to be done. 4 hours later the car was done and cost about $350 for a front axle repair...I have no idea if that is a good price but my dad seemed to think so. The staff were very friendly, explained things so I could understand, and the quick and efficient service was wonderful. My dad couldn't stop talking about how pleased he was and felt proud of himself for finding his daughter a trustworthy, quality, friendly service I could take my car to. I have a 2001 Suburu Forester so it is getting to that place of needing work to keep it driving safely. The only thing that makes me uncomfortable was when we were checking out, they mentioned their monetary incentive program for writing 5 star reviews, stating that customers would be rewarded for writing 5 star reviews on various platforms (FB, Yelp, Google maps, etc). The monetary reward was a discount on your next service. I think it was $10 or $20 per review. I know this creates bias and now I wonder how many of those 170+ 5 star reviews were accurate or if they were embellished at all so someone could get 10-20 bucks off their next oil change..I mean, I can’t complain about the service. My car is running great and there’s no more shuddering of the front wheels...which I was told could cause a major accident and total destruction of my engine if the axle had come off. I would have gladly written a 5 star review if it hadn’t been for this slightly unethical ask of writing 5 star reviews for monetary incentive. I know Yelp is asking businesses not to do this as it creates bias amongst the reviews. I think if a business provides monetary incentive no matter the number of stars given that would be more ethical and even better would be no monetary incentive and just ask customers to write a review of their services. This would cause a business to be more accountable to the services they provide and would keep them motivated to always provide great customer service. I also understand that most people won’t take the time to write a positive review and I keep that in mind when I see a lot of positive reviews and a few bad ones. Even better is seeing how management responds to those negative reviews which gives me a good picture of a business’ character.I will be returning to Scott's for any of my automotive needs, but I will stay true to myself and my feelings regarding their 5 star incentive program.read moreread less
- I've never felt so comfortable at the mechanics! I came into Scott's with a weird clicking sound and needing an oil change, and Scott's came highly recommended from a close friend.
Everyone at Scott's was kind and welcoming. And they kept me in the loop! After running diagnostics, they made recommendations on repairs and what they though my car needed. They explained what and why, and gave a price point for each recommendation. They were up front and transparent about whether each one was necessary, a good idea, or something that I could wait on. None of the recommendations were frivolous, and they got my go-ahead before moving forward with repairs
I felt like they made recommendations with my best interest in mind and gave me the tools to make the best decision for myself and my vehicle. They also lent me a car while mine's in the shop and offered shuttle rides to and from the shop
I'm a happy customer! I'll definitely be back at Scott'sread moreread lessAustin was very helpful. I was late to my appointment because of a flat, and he still squeezed me in instead of making me reschedule. Not only that, but he also saved me around 900 bucks on the work I need done. They always do a follow up call to make sure everything is working well when I told them that my head lights still were not aligned they told me to come in anytime and they fixed it. Very friendly people too. I’ll definitely keep going to them for all of my car needs. FYI my husband has had quite a bit of car trouble recently and has been to four different mechanics in the last six months and I’ve been to one other mechanic, so we have pretty good local comparisons and Scott’s is by far the best.read moreread lessFace it, in this day and age, vehicles are a necessity, even in a two-car family. Even more so during the Christmas season. Scott's GJ Auto was up to the task of getting my truck in for an electrical issue, and resolving other issues lurking in the darkness, and out within 24 hours.
Thanks to Austin for a welcoming first contact, on the phone and then in person, and Dave for managing/executing repairs, and any other unsung heroes who helped.
Merry Christmas to all of you.read moreread lessScott's Auto is Outstanding! I'm the original owner of my Chevy Tahoe Z71, I know my truck well. I'm a disabled veteran and felt taken advantage of before going to Scott's.My check engine has been going off and on, since last summer! I've taken it to 2 other Huge service shops in Fort Collins before Scott's. I've been told other things were wrong, and was over charged for service both times. I've been treated like an idiot by the other 2 shops. Still my check engine kept coming on... I researched car repair kiosks... Confused. I called Scott's Auto 2 weeks before I took it in, and Kristie was so awesome on the phone, still my trust was busted with Auto shops. I hestitated, but after research and talking to Scott's mechanics; who patiently answered questions and treated me with such respect... I took my truck to Scott's. From the moment I got there, they were friendly, and informative. They lent me a loaner over Labor Day weekend (so awesome) and figured out Exactly what was wrong with my truck! My OEM part was priced right, got free wipers, and exceptional service. Scott's Auto excels in professionalism and integrity! Totally recommend them! You guys rock! Thank you!Signed, A happy customer and driver :)read moreread less - Two stars because of the aftermath. I took my car there about 2 months ago to have the rear struts replaced. They replaced them and did some other work on my car. At some point they told me the bolts on my engine air filter box were stripped. I did some research and it's fairly common on my car. After they did their work I noticed my car seems to cut out when shifting into each gear ( manual trans ). It was kind of sort of doing this before I took it in but it really started getting worse after. So I thought, maybe it's the air box ( what do I know )...so I investigated and found, not only were they stripped, but two were completely GONE and the middle one was in about 2/3rds of the way in...I can't believe they didn't tell me that? That's problem number 1 - they didn't say two bolts are gone; problem number two is I used to take my car to National Automotive, great place been taking it there for years but I moved across town so tried the new place, well, I don't know if National did it, or if this place did it to my air box, and I guess it could have been the Honda shop I took it too a few years ago...I don't know. I don't know if I should take it back there, or to national...I don't know who to trust anymore...sucks that SOMEBODY didn't do their job and I'm paying for it :( EDIT : 02/21/18 I've added a star because the owner of the shop contacted me directly asking what he could do to make it right. I would say to you all out there, contacting me directly like that and asking what he could do is a fantastic start. I probably didn't respond to them when they followed up because of the time of the year and I only drive my car short distances maybe once a week so at that time I had no reason yet to look under the hood. Be that as it may, I took my car in today and spoke with Fred the owner, he took down my concerns, I needed a ride to get home and since I needed somebody to drive the car and notice a few things Fred came with me and suggested some options one that would be a good spend he thought, and I'd have to agree it sounded like a worth while investment. Then I got out we shook hands and off he went into the sunset, well, it was a little after noon time so I embellished a tad right there, we shook hands and off he road away with my trusty steed. I don't have any illusions of price discounts because I truly do not know WHO broke the bolts, but I do appreciate the effort that they've made, and this shows that they do want to give great customer service. So far so good, Let's see how many stars they get after I get the bill ;) EDIT NUMBER TWO : Based on everybody's efforts so far I'm bumping my review up to a 5 star rating like everybody else, and it'll stay that way unless there's a reason to lower it. Thank you Fred, Hunter, and Kristi for easing my mind.read moreread less
